In simple words, it is a form of art that helps to show some very complex issues related to medicine and science in a simple visual. It is the most effective tool in scientific communication. It helps to deliver scientific knowledge to patients and non-scientists in an understandable way.
It also helps teach students effectively and train surgeons and residents faster. But beyond that it just makes scientific presentation more interesting and beautiful for meeting or for funding.

I always sign a contract before starting work. The second condition is the advance payment (30%).
Thanks to this both sides are secured.
Over the years I have developed my own style of work in which I pay a lot of attention to the message that the illustration is supposed to carry. Every detail counts, so the first stage of my work is... learning. Each order - whether it will be a simple graphic scheme or a complicated concept - is preceded by careful study of reference materials and conversation with the client.
The second stage of my work is preparation of 2 or 3 preliminary sketches, which are then consulted with specialists to be scientifically correct. At this stage of work, there can be a lot of comments.
After corrections and acceptance of sketches, I can start preparing the final illustration. This is the longest and most labor-intensive stage of my work. After its completion I can apply only minor corrections to the final render. Larger changes can be very difficult and so they are extra paid.
The last stage is sending invoice to the client.
After payment I send high resolution files of final illustration.
